City of Sydney Alternative Plan for Waterloo; how does it compare to the LAHC master plan?

The City of Sydney has developed an alternative Master Plan for the redevelopment of the Waterloo Estate.While the alternative plan does not have any legal status (the inclusion of the Waterloo Estate redevelopment as a State Significant Project removes the City as the planning authority), the City's plan gives the community an opportunity to carefully consider the redevelopment and how it will impact their lives and their community.
Shelter NSW has prepared an analysis of the City of Sydney's alternative plan and compares it with the LAHC Master Plan to contribute towards an informed public debate about what will be one of this State's most significant urban redevelopment projects. Residential Tenancies Amendment (Social Housing) Bill 2018 introduces rental bonds for public housing

Two days after the NSW Government handed down it's 'budget with a strong heart', the Residential Tenancies Amendment (Social Housing) Bill 2018 was introduced in Parliament to introduce a "risk based rental bond scheme" for public housing. Shelter NSW is a co-signatory with the Tenants Union, Homelessness NSW, People with Disability Australia, Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association and NCOSS, on a joint statement expressing our concerns about the potential harm that the proposed scheme will cause to already disadvantaged people.

A Compact for Renewal: What tenants want from Renewal

This report from stage one of a project conducted by Shelter NSW, Tenants' Union of NSW and the City Futures Research Centre UNSW to develop a Compact for Renewal between agencies undertaking urban renewal and social housing tenants affected by renewal. The Compact would represent an agreement about how urban renewal was to be conducted in social housing areas and how social housing tenants were to be treated and engaged.
